Utah Admin. Code R58-1-14 - Duties of Carriers
(1) Owners and
operators of railroads, trucks, airplanes, and other conveyances are forbidden
to move any livestock, poultry, or other animals into or within the state or
through the state except in compliance with this rule.
(2) Sanitation. Any railway cars, trucks,
airplanes, and other conveyances used in transporting livestock, poultry, or
other animals shall be maintained in a clean, sanitary condition.
(3) Movement of Infected Animals. Owners and
operators of railway cars, trucks, airplanes, and other conveyances that have
been used for the movement of any livestock, poultry, or other animals infected
with or exposed to any infectious, contagious, or communicable disease as
determined by the department, shall be required to have cars, trucks,
airplanes, and other conveyances thoroughly cleaned and disinfected under
official supervision before further use is permissible for the transportation
of livestock, poultry, or other animals.
(4) Compliance with Laws and Rules. Owners
and operators of railroads, trucks, airplanes, or other conveyances used for
the transportation of livestock, poultry, or other animals are responsible for
seeing that each consignment is prepared for shipment in keeping with state and
federal laws and regulations. Certificates of Veterinary Inspection, brand
certificates, and permits should be attached to the waybill accompanying the
attendant in charge of the animals.
