The Social Security Act, referred to in subsec. (b)(1), is act Aug. 14, 1935, ch. 531, 49 Stat. 620. Title XVIII of the Act is classified generally to subchapter XVIII (§ 1395 et seq.) of chapter 7 of Title 42, The Public Health and Welfare. Parts A and B of title XVIII of the Act are classified generally to part A (§ 1395c et seq.) and part B (§ 1395j et seq.), respectively, of subchapter XVIII of chapter 7 of Title 42. 1993—Subsec. (b)(1). Pub. L. 103–66, § 11003(a)(1), designated existing provisions as subpar. (A) and added subpars. (B) and (C).
