H1-B visa
The H1-B visa is a temporary (nonimmigrant) visa category issued by the United States government.
high seas
High seas are international marine waters outside the jurisdiction of any country. Under the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea, the high seas begin 200 nautical miles from the coastline.
hors de combat
"Hors de combat" is a term used in international humanitarian law (IHL) which describes a soldier who cannot fight due to being sick, wounded, captured or incapacitated. These soldiers are not allowed to be attacked or harmed because they pose no threat. The rules of IHL state that these individuals are to be treated humanely and protected from harm.

Human rights refer to fundamental rights to which all human beings are equally entitled. Unlike rights bestowed by governments, human rights are both inalienable and universal, and exist regardless of whether a state chooses to recognize them or not. In principle, human rights are applicable to every person, regardless of their age, sex, or nationality.
I-94 Card
The I-94 Card is a document required from non-immigrant visitors entering the United States with a visa. Such non-immigrants are required to complete the Arrival-Departure Record, which is the CBP Form I-94, or the Crewman Landing Permit (CBP Form I-95).
illegal immigrant
More commonly referred to as undocumented immigrants, illegal immigrants are aliens who enter or remain in a country unlawfully. The category of “illegal immigrant” contrasts with “legal” or “documented” immigrants who enter a country through the proper channels.
immediate relative
Immediate relatives are the closest family members, which usually include parents, spouses, and children, sometimes including siblings and grandparents. The relationships are created via blood, adoption, and marriage.
The scope of immediate relatives is varied in different laws and regulations, and the difference has a deep influence on their duty and rights.

Immigration is the movement of persons into a new country with the intent to reside in that country. This includes state-sanctioned immigration (sometimes referred to as “legal immigration”) and unlawful immigration (sometimes referred to as “illegal immigration”).

Imperialism can be defined as a doctrine, political strategy, practice, state policy, or advocacy that consists in extending power by territorial acquisition or by extending political and economic control outward over other areas. Imperialism oftentimes involves the use of military and economic power, and always aims for more expansion and collective or individual domination.
