Hughes Amendment
Congress enacted the Hughes Amendment as part of the Firearm Owners’ Protection Act (FOPA) of 1986. The particular amendment was named after the sponsor, Representative William J. Hughes, and added a new subsection, now codified at 18 U.S.C. § 922(o).

Human rights refer to fundamental rights to which all human beings are equally entitled. Unlike rights bestowed by governments, human rights are both inalienable and universal, and exist regardless of whether a state chooses to recognize them or not. In principle, human rights are applicable to every person, regardless of their age, sex, or nationality.

hyperlink
A hyperlink, sometimes called a link, is any component of a webpage that connects two different webpages or two different locations of the same website. Hyperlinks are sometimes a different color than the rest of the text (e.g. they are blue here), or underlined to indicate that they will take the user somewhere else. Clicking on a link will either take the user to a different webpage or a different location on the same website.
hypothecate
Hypothecate means to pledge something as security for a loan, without the actual delivery of the item pledged. For example, a car may be collateral for a car loan, although possession remains with the borrower.
i.e.
i.e. is a Latin abbreviation for id est meaning "that is." This would be used when the intent is to clarify or explain the previous statement. For example, the federal government's highest judicial body, i.e., the Supreme Court. Or, his children (i.e., Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Joan).
IEP
IEP is the abbreviation for Individualized Education Program, which was established under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
