contemnor
A contemnor is a person who is found to be in contempt of court . A party becomes a contemnor by ignoring/disobeying a court order . Contemnors are subject to court sanctions and punishments.
If the contemnor is held in civil contempt of court , they can avoid sanctions entirely by complying with the initial court order. If the contemnor is held in criminal contempt of court , they are subject to sanctions regardless of whether they ultimately choose to comply with the court order or not.
